Objectives To assist science teachers incorporating the use of online labs and supportive inquiry learning apps into their teaching and learning activities.
Description of material The course is designed for 2 months of teacher learning. It is divided into 8 modules: 1. Inquiry learning with online labs, 2. Creating an inquiry-oriented lesson plan, 3. Creating and editing an Inquiry Learning Space, 4. Using learning analytics. Sharing and publishing an inquiry learning space, 5. Setting up inquiry learning apps, 6. Exploring the Sun, 7. Exploring galaxies, 8. Identifying particles with the ATLAS.

After completing this course, teacher will know how to create complete inquiry learning scenarios suitable for different subject domains and how to implement these scenarios in a digital learning environment, how to use the Go-Lab Ecosystem, and several example scenarios of using online labs are explained in this course.

All the materials were produced in European collaborative project Go-Lab Project (Global Online Science Labs for Inquiry Learning at School).

N. B. The visual design of the Go-Lab Ecosystem has been changed in October 2017. Most of the videos demonstrate the old design.

Objectives To clarify how specific skills and processes of scientific enquiry can be taught within the context of practical and enquiry activities.
Description of material The training unit focuses on developing an understanding of the key elements of Scientific Enquiry and how it might affect the practice of science teachers. This training activity consists of seven sessions to be worked with the participants. They cover such topics as: teaching scientific enquiry skills and processes explicitly; types of scientific enquiry; ideas and evidence in Key Stage 3 science; some strategies for teaching about ideas and evidence; how scientists work. It also includes follow-up work of two sorts: one for the participant to develop their own teaching and the other to disseminate some of the ideas from the unit to colleagues in the department. The materials consist of: tutors notes (overview of the unit, unit objectives, outline programme, synopsis, preparing for the unit, resources needed for each session, pre-unit task, follow-up work, summary of the main messages of the unit, evaluation forms), training slides for the session, participants resource pack (copies of the slides and handouts used in the training), summary of key messages, Scientific Enquiry planning posters. Objectives To form knowledge and skills to prepare and organize learning activities in inquiry-based style by combining classical tools and ITC (dynamic geometry software constructions).
Description of material The course uses developed virtual learning environments for math education and themes from past online competitions. The methodology is related to working with ready to use products, modifying them, finding solutions with specified accuracy, dipping in a research atmosphere, experiencing different approaches and interactive learning methods. Emphasis is also placed on participation in online competitions. The specialized mathematical software used is free. The materials were developed by Bulgarian Academy of Science in 2015.
