Objectives The training course aims to support primary school teachers in developing a stronger interest and competence in mathematics of their students, enhancing their social and civic skills, and so contributing to an increase in students’ chances of success both in school and in life.
Description of material The course is designed for 12 hours of teacher learning. It is divided into six modules each covering two hours of study time. The six modules are as follows: 1. Introduction; 2. Outdoor activities; 3. Working in 2 dimensions; 4. Exploring polyhedra; 5. Number and logic; 6. Making an exhibition. Course material and supporting materials are published on the project webpage as separate files: Teachers training course contents file; Guidelines for the implementation of the MiMa methodology; Final toolkit (for teachers). The whole training course package includes a Report and feedback on teacher training course with information how courses were organized in different countries and what was teacher feedback. The course materials are flexible and could be used for face-to-face teacher training, blended or online learning, teacher self-guided learning. The course and materials were developed in project “MiMa Mathematics in the Making“ supported by Lifelong Learning Programme in 2013-2014.
