Objectives To support teachers in planing for the teaching of mathematics on a long, medium and short term basis.
Description of material This workshop is designed to support teachers in evaluating current policies and procedures for planning for progression. It provides opportunities to highlight any possible inconsistencies across the team, to about connections between different areas of mathematics and explore whether the provision is meeting the needs of students, building on their prior learning and is sufficiently challenging. The materials for departmental workshop include overview and a number of resource sheets. The departmental workshops have been written to provide school mathematics team with structured professional development to be delivered in-house utilising members’ expertise and knowledge. Materials could be used for self-guided learning too. Departmental workshops’ material was developed by National Centre for Exellence in the Teaching of Mathematics.
